MSF Scientific Days Latin America 2026: Abstract guidelines

MSF Scientific Days International Organizing Committee

Abstract

MSF Scientific Days Latin America 2026 invites researchers, NGOs and public health professionals, policymakers, advocates, and frontline humanitarian workers to submit abstracts that explore innovative and evidence-based approaches to health and humanitarian needs in the region.

Selected abstracts will have the opportunity to be presented at MSF Scientific Days Latin America 2026, taking place in Mexico in October, with both in-person and online audiences.

Theme: Adapting to a changing humanitarian landscape: innovative responses to evolving health challenges in Latin America

We welcome abstracts that align with the following key areas:

  • Climate and environmental health: How are humanitarian programs adapting to the health impacts of climate change? We are particularly interested in initiatives focused on mitigation, adaptation, and resilience-building.
  • Health impacts of violence: In a region marked by high levels of social and/or neglected situations of violence, we seek to highlight lessons learned and evidence generated from health programming in complex and violent contexts.
  • Migration and Health: Addressing the health needs of mobile and displaced populations, including barriers to care, continuity of services, and cross-border coordination.
  • Access to contraceptives and safe abortion care: Expanding access to comprehensive sexual and reproductive health services, including innovative and rights-based approaches in restrictive or resource-limited settings.
  • Neglected tropical diseases: Strategies to improve prevention, diagnosis, treatment, and control of neglected diseases affecting vulnerable populations in the region.

Abstracts that demonstrate strong community engagement, or that incorporate mental health, indigenous health, or health equity and inclusion perspectives, will be prioritized.
